03/05/14 - Wolves 3 - 0 Carlisle

After a couple of months off due to various different things (getting engaged, booking weddings and holidays etc) I decided to get back on the road and what better game to do it! I've made no secret of it that I'm a Wolves fan and have been to Molineux many times before but never as part of my trek to do the Full 92!

So I invited all of my registered people to come along and join me if they fancied a great day out. Wolves had already won the Sky Bet League One championship so would be presented with the trophy at the end of the game. It would indeed be a carnival atmosphere. Unfortunately there had to be a loser and it just so happened that today it would more than likely be the visitors Carlisle United who would also be relegated with anything less than a win.
Shame really, but I couldn't let that put a dampener on the celebrations now could I?

With my future step son Ashton, and my brother Darren attending with me for the first time, we went to meet another fellow Full 92'er making his debut appearance on one of our trips. Liam made his own way to the ground but we met him there and he was excited at the prospect of a sold out 30,000 people carnival type atmosphere inside the ground. Liam's an Arsenal fan so is used to packed stadiums but whether he's quite seen that type of passion, well you'll have to ask him!

The day didn't disappoint. With celebratory flags, shirts, horns and programmes everywhere, Wolverhampton was buzzing. The game itself went pretty much as expected. Poor old Carlisle were 1-0 down within five minutes and it didn't really get much better for them as Wolves dominated for most of the game and with two first half goals and one in the second half ran out 3-0 winners on the day and record breaking Champions with 103 points overall.

We all stayed behind after for the presentation of the trophy and to witness the lap of honour from the new young Wolves team before they head to The Championship next year. A day to truly savour (maybe I'm being slightly biased) but with Molineux done I now look forward to adding some more grounds next season. Why don't you all get off your backsides and come and join us?!!
