12/10/13 - Dagenham 1 - 2 Cheltenham

This proved to be a road trip and a half! Taking my mate Graham with me we were going to meet Mark who is one of the Full 92's registered members. I'd sorted out his National Express coach travel from Clacton to Romford and we would be meeting him there and travelling to Dagenham together.

After about 30 mins on the road I received a call from Mark saying that he had missed the coach by seconds so was a little bit stuck. Feeling bad for him I decided to go the extra mile (or 120!) and drive to pick him up from Clacton. This just goes to show how far I will go to make sure my members have a great experience with The Full 92!

And so the road trip was on. Evesham to Clacton, Clacton to Dagenham, then to Romford and finally back to Evesham. A day of 9 hours in the car, but all made for a great day out watching football. And even though this is extreme, I like to make sure that our members get the best service possible! Mark got a chauffeured service from his home town and then picked up the return National Express for the trip home. You may think I'm mad, but to me customer service is the most important thing. Surely you must all agree?

As for the game itself, it wasn't bad. Cheltenham came away with a crucial away win and to be fair on the day they were the better team. You can read the full BBC match report here.

Victoria Road is a very dated ground. It's very much like a non-league ground with lots of standing areas. The home fans take up one side of the ground. Despite the match being at Dagenham, the away fans seemed to be making much of the atmosphere and even brought flares with them. Slapped wrists all round!

The food was cheap and they even do Pot Noodles! Can't moan about that. Despite is being a very basic experience, we did get to hob nob with a couple of celebrities. Both Nigel Worthington and Mark Bright were there and we got to meet both. Mark even posed for a cheeky photo with Nigel. However I was a little gutted that despite doing a lap of the pitch I never got to meet Dagger the Dog!

Despite the hiccups with travel, it was a great day out and we even had a few drinks in Cheltenham in the evening when we got back. God I love footy days out! If you want to join us please get in touch. You can check out our website or email me at thefull92@outlook.com.
